There is a common thread of “Re” in the Bible. There is a common thread of “Re” woven into each of our lives as well. God weaves it into our lives by revealing Himself to us, giving us second chances, forgiving our wrongs, and bringing healing into our pain. That thread is the Good News.

Heart to Heart: A tale of two sabbaticals

God is always present, even when times are tough. There has probably been a time you wondered, “Why is this happening to me?” Last week, Billy described the lessons learned from his recent much-needed sabbatical. This week he recalls the lessons learned in the adversity of an earlier forced “sabbatical” due to a severe illness. In our darkest hours, God has much to teach us about Himself and our need for Him.

God desires to be in relationship with us. Through the Bible, He wants to speak to us. But some people say the Bible is full of contradictions. They say Jesus invalidated the Old Testament. They say God endorses violence and war in the Bible.
