In the Wind
Rev. Dr. Billy Burch
Main Idea:
Even when you believe in Jesus, a feeling of emptiness, a feeling that something is missing, can come over you. In that moment there are two choices: Diversion (finding a way to escape or bury the feeling), or Exploration. God calls you to exploration. He’ll show you that these feelings will point you back to him.

Kenton Hock & Adam Udinski

Parables: Mustard Seed
Rev. Dr. Billy Burch
Main Idea:
Jesus’ parable of the mustard seed is widely known, with the theme of this parable being how even in what may seem insignificant, God can make amazingly beautiful things come from them. Furthermore, Jesus uses the mustard seed to describe the Kingdom of God with an illustration of something small, showing how this mustard seed will grow into something astonishing and bigger than you even thought possible.

Parables: Good Samaritan
Rev. Scott Allen
Main Idea:
The theme of God’s provision through people continues in the Parable of the Good Samaritan. In this parable, God’s provision for a crime victim comes through the compassion of a foreign traveler, who evidently has enough wealth to pay for a stranger’s medical care. This may be the best-known of all Jesus’ parables, though it is recorded only in the Gospel of Luke.

Parables: Rich Fool
Rev. Dr. Billy Burch
Main Idea:
This parable emerges from Jesus response to a request from someone in the crowd to arbitrate between him and his brother over the matter of their inheritance. Jesus not only denies the request but rather uses it as a teaching opportunity to warn against greed and reliance on wealth for our security.

Parables: Wineskins
Rev. Dr. Billy Burch
Main Idea:
“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine must be stored in new wineskins. But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say.”
