Local

Most of our local outreach happens in our week-to-week lives as we work at our jobs, attend our schools, and live in our neighborhoods. We are intentional about training and equipping our church family to be effective in this kind of ministry.

Local outreach also happens through ministries of the church like bible studies, small group gatherings, men’s and women’s events, and student and children’s ministries. In addition to these ongoing ministries we sponsor regular events and ministry efforts focused on bringing the good news about Jesus to those in the community around us.

As a church, we have the privilege to support and partner with many local ministries such as:

  • Bridge Academy & Community Center -uses creative arts, education and community projects as a means to build relationships with our community and to educate, serve, and impact the community with the gospel messsage, ultimately making fully devoted followers of Christ.
  • Bridge of Hope    -Ending and preventing homelessness in your community . . . one church and one family at a time
  • Campus Crusade for Christ   -Helping to build spiritual movements everywhere so everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus Christ.
  • Good Works   -A Christian nonprofit organization which exists to improve the living conditions for low-income families in Chester County, PA.
  • InterVarsity Christian Fellowship   -An evangelical campus mission serving more than 32,000 students and faculty on more than 550 college and university campuses nationwide.
  • Priority One   -Exists to introduce Christ into the lives of men and challenge them to make him the foundation of their priorities.
  • REST Ministries - is under the umbrella of Handi*Vangelism Ministries International.  REST ministries provides Bible studies in prisons; discipleship and mentoring of ex-offenders; turoring for basic reading and GED prep; workshops which equip the church to provide Biblical restoration; excellent support group material entitled "RESTORED - Seeing Me Through God's Eyes;" and Tabitha's Treasure Chest, a thrift store ministry to the community.
  • Spanish Health Ministry   -helping Spanish speaking families identify health needs and obtain medical care for pregnant women, newborns, and chronically ill babies and children in Southern Chester County. They desire to meet the physical and spiritual needs of this population.
  • World Impact   -Dedicated to ministering God's love in the inner cities of America.
  • Young Life    -Brings the good news of Jesus Christ into the lives of adolescents with an approach that is respectful of who kids are and hopeful about who they can be.

In our local community there are also those with whom we would not normally have contact due to cultural barriers like language and socio-economic differences. We care as much about these people as those with whom we regularly come into contact, and we are intentional in our efforts to impact them.

Outreach focused at these groups often involves partnerships with local ministries positioned to effectively impact these neighbors.

These partnerships include:

  • The Fredrick Douglas School - A Christian school working to bring hope to children in Chester, PA
  • County Corrections Gospel Fellowship -An inner-city ministry working to reach out to residents of Coatesville, PA
  • Spanish Health Ministry -Responds to the physical, social, and spiritual needs of the Hispanic community in Southern Chester County.
