As we wrap up our 120-day, church-wide focus on prayer, I wanted to relay one more story about a businessman who leveraged his 7 5 2 bracelet.
Today I had lunch with Dave. He is a working professional who plays a vital role at his international company. Dave also took seriously our most recent HomePointe campaign: 7 5 2.
As Dave wore his 7 5 2 bracelet to work, co-workers, the vice-president and the president noticed. They would often ask him, "Why are you wearing that bracelet?". Dave would use this as an opportunity to tell them about Christ Community's prayer initiative and his own personal efforts to pray. He viewed each of these opportunities as a chance to plant spiritual seeds in the lives of his co-workers.
Our 4-month HomePointe campaigns offer one focal point - in this case, prayer. And it is our prayer that 7 5 2 motivates you to keep on having real life conversations with God and others who may not know Him yet.
Join us on Sunday, December 26 as we launch our next HomePointe campaign…
On Sunday's, January 16, 23, 30 and February 6, HomePointe will offer a 4-part class for parents of elementary age children. The class will meet in room 201 from 9:00am - 10:05am. Shelley Melvin and Scott Allen will cover topics such as boundaries and discipline, spiritual development, developing honor and setting safeguards with the Internet and technology. We hope you can join us.
Recently I was asked for recommended resources on parenting an adult child.
For starters, click here to find an article and resources on the topic, from a Christian viewpoint.
For a book from a non-faith perspective, try Walking on Eggshells by Jane Isay.
When you come across a good resource on parenting adult children, please email me your recommendation at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
